Bernhard Schobinger (1946, Zurich, Switzerland) is a goldsmith and sculptor. Echoing Max Bill and Konkrete Kunst, combined with Punk references of the 1970s, over the past 40 years Schobinger has developed a body of work that stands out due to its provocativeness and conceptual richness, work in which the boundaries between the arts dissolve. Recipient of a number of international prizes, his works form part of the permanent collections of innumerable museums including the Victoria & Albert in London, the MFA in Boston, the MFA in Houston, the National Museum of Australia in Canberra, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
