Artist residency n. 2/ Curated by Goton: Gaia Vincensini
Every year, over the summer, Martina Simeti hosts an artist residency in her gallery in Via Tortona. Eva Svennung will curate the second edition in 2020. The first artist in resdence in 2019 was Susan Cianciolo.

Gaia Vincensini (b.1992) graduated at the Haute école d’Art et de Design in Geneva, with a Master of Fine Arts. Vincensini works with drawing, print, engraving and textile. Through a practice that also questions and exploits the languages of craftsmanship and design, she reflects on issues analyzing the individual within the community, identity and emancipation, cultural symbols and socio-economic living conditions. Her main solo shows include Gaudel de Stampa, Paris (2018); Forde, Geneva (Switzerland, 2018); Urgizzy, Densbüren (Switzerland, 2017); 1.1, Basel (Switzerland, 2018). Recent group exhibitions were held at Maison d’Art Bernard Anthonioz, Nogent-sur-Marne (France, 2019); Kunsthalle St. Gallen (Switzerland, 2019); Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva (Switzerland, 2019); Alienze, Lausanne (Switzerland, 2017). in 2016 she was awarded the New Heads - BNP Paribas Art Awards and the Bourses Déliées Visual Arts. Recently she was nominated for the Manor Art Award 2020. Gaia Vincensini lives between Geneva and Paris.
