Ligia Dias (b. 1974) is an artist, jewelry designer and fashion consultant based in Geneva. Her work is self-defined as Coco Chanel and Max Bill driving a Matra 530 customized by Sonia Delaunay. The Bauhaus legacy is explicit in her practice. Dias' work has been presented internationally in exhibitions such as ‘MEDUSA’, at the Musée d'art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and at ‘L’Esprit du Bauhaus’ at Le Musée des Arts Décoratifs, also in Paris. In 2009 she received the ANDAM Award of Young French Designers (Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode). In 2017 Dias launched her curated project entitled The Corner Piece at the Independent Art Fair in Brussels which included John Armleder, Sylvie Auvray, Bless, Sonia Boyajian, Liz Craft, Ligia Dias, Rebekah Frank, Lydia, GianCarlo Montebello, Mai-Thu Perret and Oscar Tuazon. The second edition of “The Corner Piece” will be presented by Martina Simeti at Design Miami/ Curio, 2018.
